When the World Shakes, God Does Not

When the World Shakes, God Does Not

Joel 3:14-17
Psalm 46:1-11

Joel describes a day when the sun and moon grow dark, the stars lose their brightness, and the heavens and the earth tremble at the voice of God. Creation itself shakes. And yet in the middle of that cosmic upheaval, God declares Himself a refuge and a stronghold for His people. This is not a distant theological concept. It is a present reality for every believer navigating uncertainty -- political, personal, financial, or physical. The same God whose voice shakes creation is the God who holds His people steady within it. When everything around you is shifting, the refuge is not a place. It is a Person. He does not shake.

Personal Reflection
What current circumstance is tempting you toward fear or despair? How does the truth of God's sovereignty speak directly into that situation?

Practical Application
Read Psalm 42:5 and 42:11 slowly.
Practice the discipline of preaching truth to your own soul today.
When anxious thoughts arise, speak aloud a specific truth about God's character and sovereignty in response.
