Worship, Trust, Obey: Living in Light of the Great I AM
The purpose of theology is not merely information—it is transformation. John 8:48–59 calls us to move beyond simply understanding who Jesus is and begin living in light of His identity. If Jesus is truly the eternal "I AM," our lives should reflect that reality.

Step 1: Worship Christ for Who He Is
Many believers focus primarily on what Jesus does for them.
John 8 redirects our attention to who Jesus is.

He is:

• The eternal God
• The promised Savior
• The Lord of life
• The fulfillment of God's covenant promises

True worship begins when we marvel at Christ Himself.

Practical Action
Spend dedicated time this week reading:

• Exodus 3
• Isaiah 43
• John 8:48–59

Notice how each passage reveals God's character and points to Christ.

Step 2: Trust Christ More Than Your Circumstances
Jesus promises eternal life to those who keep His word. Because He is the eternal Son, His promises cannot fail. When fears arise—whether about the future, suffering, or death—we can anchor ourselves in the character of Christ rather than our changing circumstances.

Practical Action
Write down one current fear or burden.
Next to it, write: "Jesus is the great I AM, and He is greater than this."
Use that statement as a reminder throughout the week.

Step 3: Publicly Honor Christ
The crowd in John 8 was forced to respond to Jesus. We face the same decision. There is no neutral position regarding Christ. Faith does not remain hidden forever. Worship eventually becomes visible.

Practical Action
Look for one opportunity this week to speak about Christ with someone—a friend, family member, coworker, or neighbor.
Share what you are learning about who Jesus is.

Something to Do: Read Exodus 3, Isaiah 43, and John 8:58 this week, noting what each passage teaches about God's identity.

Final Encouragement
John leaves no middle ground. The God who spoke from the burning bush stood in the Temple courts. Some reached for stones. Others believed.

Today, the same choice remains.

The eternal "I AM" still calls people to Himself. The question is not whether Jesus made the claim. The question is how we will respond to Him.

Will we reject Him, or will we bow before Him in faith and worship?
