Why Our Weakness Is Not a Liability

Why Our Weakness Is Not a Liability
Romans 8:26–27

Most of us spend our lives trying to hide weakness. We want to appear competent.
Capable. Self-sufficient. Yet the Christian life works very differently.

Romans 8 says: "The Spirit also helps our weakness..."
Notice that Paul does not say the Spirit helps our strengths. He helps our weakness.
That should encourage every believer.

God is not looking for polished, self-reliant Christians. He delights in humble sons and daughters who recognize their need for Him. One of the greatest obstacles to a healthy prayer life is the belief that we must "have it all together" before coming to God.

The opposite is true. Our weakness becomes the very place where God's grace shines brightest. When we admit, "Lord, I don't know what to pray..." we have arrived exactly where Romans 8 wants us to be.

Practical Application
The next time you feel spiritually inadequate:
* Remember that weakness is not failure.
* Bring your confusion honestly to God.
* Trust the Holy Spirit to supply what you lack.

God is not frustrated by your weakness. He has already provided His Helper.
