More Than a Program: A Pathway for Following Jesus

This Sunday, Grace Point begins a churchwide emphasis centered on three simple words:

KNOW Christ. GROW in Christ. GO for Christ.

These words are not merely a slogan, and this emphasis is not another temporary church program. It is a biblical pathway describing the continuing life of every disciple of Jesus.

Jesus commanded His church to “make disciples of all the nations” and to teach them to obey everything He commanded (Matthew 28:19–20). That means the mission of the church involves more than gathering a crowd or maintaining activities. We proclaim Christ so that people may be brought to maturity in Him (Colossians 1:28–29).

A fully devoted disciple:

* KNOWS Christ as Savior and Lord.
* GROWS in Christ through His Word and with His people.
* GOES for Christ through service and gospel witness.

None of us has arrived. Every believer still needs to know Christ more deeply, grow toward greater maturity, and go more faithfully into the work Christ has given us.

That is why our central reminder throughout this emphasis will be:

Every Person Has a Next Step.

Your next step may involve trusting Christ, pursuing baptism or membership, returning to faithful worship, joining a Bible study, strengthening your prayer life, beginning to serve, sharing the gospel, or helping another believer grow.

Begin praying this week: “Lord, show me my next step, and give me the faith to take it.”
