Love That Puts on Flesh

Love That Puts On Flesh

Reading: John 15:12-17; 1 John 4:7-12

Jesus does not leave love as a concept. He defines it with his own life, laying it down for those who were unworthy of the sacrifice. Then he commands his disciples to love one another in the same manner. This love is not sentiment or warmth of feeling alone. It is action. It is sitting with someone who is grieving. It is speaking a difficult truth with gentleness because you care more about someone's growth than their momentary comfort. It is welcoming the stranger, bearing the burden, and restoring the one who has wandered. Love, as Jesus defines it, always costs something.

Reflection: Who in your life needs you to put love into action this week, not with words alone but with presence and sacrifice?

Practical Application: Identify one person you have not checked on recently. Reach out today with no agenda other than to genuinely care for them.
