The Security of the Shepherd's Hand

The Security of the Shepherd's Hand

Reading: John 10:27-30; Romans 8:38-39

Jesus speaks with unmistakable certainty in John 10. His sheep hear his voice, they follow him, and he gives them eternal life. Then he removes any doubt with a declaration that no one, not even ourselves, can remove us from his hand. The Father who gave us to the Son is greater than all opposition. This is not a license for carelessness but a foundation for courage. We do not cling to Christ by the strength of our grip; we are held by the strength of his. That truth should produce not complacency but deep, settled worship.

Reflection: Do you live with the settled assurance that Christ holds you, or does fear of losing your standing with God quietly undermine your joy?

Practical Application: Write John 10:28 on a card and place it somewhere visible. Each time you see it, pause and thank God for his faithfulness rather than your own.
