A Portrait of Jesus in John 7

Tonight we began our study of John 7 and saw that Jesus is never someone people can handle casually or neutrally. He exposes the unbelief that can hide even near religion, and He speaks with the full authority of the Father. John 7 reminds us that proximity to spiritual things is not the same as true faith, and admiration for Jesus is not the same as surrender to Jesus. We covered the first two movements of the passage tonight:

Jesus exposes the unbelief that hides near religion. Jesus speaks the truth that comes from the Father.
